Lifting a 99′ Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Is putting a lift on a grand cherokee considered a “death trap”? I dont want to put an expensive suspension lift on my jeep if its going to unstable. Another option is 2″ Coil Spacers. Its cheap and looks good, but i heard that they wear down to the point my wheel could just fly off at any point. What should I do?

How to equip my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for the mud?

June4

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand cherokee Laredo V8 4×4.
Right now it’s bone stock.
I want to build this thing to be a capable mud machine.
Thing is, I don’t know a lot about the parts needed to enhance mud performance other than a lift and some mud tires.
What should I do to make this thing look mean, and also impress me in the mud?

Last month I was driving and my passenger front shocked popped out. I pulled over and popped the hood and the rubber bushing and bolt was missing. I tied the shock to the coil spring and took it to a tire store. They told me no luck fixing it. How do I fix this problem? Do they make a polyurethane bushing for the top of the shock where it comes up through the firewall? Or are my shocks too short? They came with the lift so I’m hoping they wouldn’t be. Anyone out there…Please help

Does anyone have any information on Rocky-Road lift kit for the 2005 Grand Cherokee?

June2

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I want to put bigger ties and rims on it. It is my everyday driver so I need to be realistic about it. Really all I am looking for is something quality that won’t give me problems down the road and something that will let me upgrade from the factory rims and/or tires. Has anyone used this product from Rocky-Road?

www.rocky-road.com/2005grand.html.

If so what do you think about?

If not, do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

I am not interested in a body lift as I do drive off road on the beach all summer and have to get through New England winters.
